Summer Camp, Adult-Style: Week Seven

Are we the only ones feeling like this summer has flown by? How is it already almost August? Soon, we’ll have to start dealing with school traffic, and we may be able to venture outside for extended periods once more. Hang on to the season a bit longer with these can’t-miss events! Pints for Prostates: Wednesday, July 24 Pints for Prostates The Flying Saucer Emporium is teaming up with Pints for Prostates to raise prostate cancer awareness. A portion of the proceeds generated from the sale of their logo glassware and weekly-featured European beer will benefit Pints for Prostates. Each glass comes with a raffle ticket for the European Beer Adventure, a ten-day trip through Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne and Nijmegan. After you’re done wetting your whistle for a good cause, don’t forget to head over to Sunset at the Grove! (We’ve had a peek at the tasting menu. Seriously, don’t miss it.) The TonTons with Ishi And The Couch: Friday, July 26 Thanks to their renowned shows at Fitzgerald’s, Houston natives The TonTons have fast become a local favorite. Now, the rest of the country will get a taste of one of the many reasons Houston’s music scene is so vibrant as they kick off their first East Coast tour. The Museum Experience: Saturday, July 27 Museum District If you haven’t been a part of Houston’s “newest cultural block party,” now is your chance! The third walkable zone in the series features The Jung Center of HoustonContemporary Arts Museum Houston and The Museum of Fine Arts. All three locations will showcase special programming, provide pedicabs in select zones and food trucks for hungry patrons. We're particularly excited about the Workhorse Printmakers workshop at CAMH - you'll leave with your very own handmade book.
